Fuel Factory Points Champion Dylan Witherow Collects ATI/JEGS $100,000 at the RAD Fall Fling

The final day at the 15th anniversary RAD Torque Systems Fall Fling 500K presented by OPTIMA Batteries at Bristol Dragway would see the last big check of the weekend awarded and determine the overall event Fuel Factory Points Champion on ATI Performance/JEGS Performance $100,000 Sunday.

The five drivers remaining on the ladder included Ray Miller III, Eric Thomas, Tyler Mosley, Cameron Manuel, and Dylan Witherow. Miller was five thousandths behind at the hit but tightened it up to just .001 at the big end for the win over the ‘67 Camaro of Thomas. In the following pair, Mosley had the starting line advantage with a .002 bulb and put together .014 total to move past Manuel. On the bye, Witherow let go .016 and coasted down towards the memorial 1.39 dial-in lit up on the scoreboard.

In the semifinals, Miller and Witherow were .009 a pair with Witherow running the ‘98 S-10 dead-on with a zero for a nine package to knock out former Fall Fling $100K winner Miller in his ‘23 NexGen dragster. Mosley staged up on the single for a hit at the tree and let go .004 to earn lane choice in the final round.

Both drivers were gunning for their first Fling event win in the classic door car versus dragster matchup. Separated by .008 on the starting line, Witherow ran it down to be dead-on two to turn on the winlight against Mosley.  “I don’t think I could ask for a bigger first win. It’s pretty cool… it’s hard for me to contain my emotions for sure,” said Witherow. “[Thanks to] Performance Polish (Vinny Guido), Mickey Thompson Tires and Wheels, Nesbitt Performance Engines, FTI, Greg Samuel, Don Rudd, Grandma, Sean… every time I go down the track I look up and thank Sean.”

After his semifinal round win, Witherow was officially crowned the Fuel Factory Points Champion to earn a $5,000 bonus, custom-wrapped Impact helmet, big check, and Fling trophy. Jack Ostrowski placed second to win a $2000 bonus, Cameron Manuel received $1500 for third, Jake Clayton earned $1000 for fourth, and Dink Holmes secured $500 for a fifth place finish.

For the first time, The Fling Race Series will expand to five events in 2025 which will include a new event at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH August 27-31 and a Door Car Only Fling at GALOT Motorsports Park in Benson, NC in October.
