Lakeside to host ‘Re:style Studio’ AW24 styling event

Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex is hosting a two-day ‘Re:style Studio’ styling event on the weekend of 12/13 October, which will blend AW24 fashion trends with eco-friendly practices to inspire shoppers.

The event will showcase a variety of workshops – from colour matching to how to dress for your body shape – and opportunities to put upcycling into action.

Celebrity stylist Ellis Ranson will be available to help shoppers address their personal style challenges and prepare their wardrobes for the upcoming season, while also sharing her expertise in a series of talks.

There will also be an opportunity for shoppers to experience free upcycling workshops from slow fashion designer Lydia Bolton, helping customers make more ethical wardrobe choices.

Attendees will be able to participate in a patchwork session to breathe new life into an old garment, or they will be able to try their hand at creating a unique bag charm.

Bolton’s workshops will offer a chance to work with her personally and learn the art of reusing old clothing. Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own garments.

Sustainable podcaster Bianca Foley will also be hosting a discussion with Bolton, with both sharing insights – including how to best utilise forgotten about hidden gems lurking in the back of shoppers’ wardrobes.

In addition to the workshops, the Re:style Studio will feature mood board drop-in sessions, allowing visitors to create their ideal wardrobe using curated materials. One lucky participant will have a chance to win a £250 shopping spree at Lakeside.

Howard Oldstein, Centre Director at Lakeside, said: “Lakeside Shopping Centre is thrilled to offer an event that combines a celebration of the latest autumn/winter fashion trends. Re:style Studio is more than just a fashion event, it’s an opportunity for shoppers to reinvigorate their wardrobe.”

Shoppers will also be able to personalise old t-shirts with custom slogans, and they will be able to opt for blank canvas make up bags and branded tote bags for a small donation which will go towards Lakeside’s charity partner of the year, The South Essex Wildlife Hospital.
