Quiz relocates and upsizes Derby store in time for the Christmas run-in
Omni-channel women’s fashion retailer Quiz has relocated and upsized its store in the South Mall of the Derbion Shopping Centre in Derby, as it gears to capitalise on the Christmas party season.
The new store is just four units away from Quiz’s former store at the centre, but the new space boasts 1,900 sq ft of the sales floor, “offering a more spacious and premium shopping experience for customers”.
The store has been decorated in line with Quiz’s recently revamped and modernised retail design, including an open ceiling with a central raft and LED spotlights throughout.
It also has a full-height glass shopfront and digital window screens to display Quiz’s latest ranges, with touches of gold featuring throughout the shop.
Emma McCaffrey, Area Manager at Quiz, said: “The team and I are delighted to be opening the doors to our new and elevated store. This store will offer a larger space, with a modern design.
“We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers, just in time for the Christmas party season.”
At the end of August, Quiz reported a pre-tax loss of £6.7 million for the year to 31 March 2024, as it slid from a £2.3 million profit a year earlier. It came as revenues dropped by 10.6% to £82 million for the year.
The retailer said the sales downturn was largely due to “the impact of cost-of-living pressures on consumer demand”. It’s now hoping to bring some Christmas cheer into the current year of trading.
