In Pictures: 247 by Represent launches first dedicated hiking collection
The performance wear extension of British streetwear brand Represent, called 247, has launched its first dedicated hiking collection for AW24.
It follows hot on the heels of 247’s collection co-designed with ultra endurance runner and model, Will Goodge, earlier this week – under the name of WG247.
The new 44-piece hiking collection follows a growing trend, with “soft hiking” dominating posts on TikTok and Instagram.
The collection is inspired by vintage hiking gear and modern streetwear, featuring insulated outerwear, ribbed base layers, fleece mid layers, hiking trousers in the form of the 247 ‘Mission Pant’, gilets, hoodies, graphic t-shirts and accessories – including the new 247 Arena sunglasses, a new eyewear shape for the brand.
The ‘Insulated Gilet’ in black takes centre stage in the collection. Inspired by vintage hiking wear, it is crafted from a micro ripstop fabric with a DWR coating which makes it water repellent. It has light puffer wadding, with gridded fleece side seam panelling.
Another key piece is the 247 ‘Fleece Hoodie’, which comes in an oversized boxy fit. The hoodie has DTM binding to the hem and sleeve opening and a zip to the high chin guard for complete coverage. The hoodie has zip pockets to the front body for secure storage of valuables. It is finished with cover stitch seam detailing throughout and an embroidered 247 logo to the front and hood.
Contrasting the vintage silhouettes are a range of graphic hoodies, tees and tanks, typical to the DNA of Represent seasonal ranges. With 247’s signature slightly oversized fit, the pieces showcase the contemporary ‘Future Terrains Team 247’ logo to the chest and back, with a refreshed water based 247 logo for a softer finish.
The t-shirts and tanks are crafted from Drirelease fabric, a quick drying, lightweight and antibacterial cotton/elastane blend with four-way stretch for optimised performance. It dries 4x faster than cotton, “ensuring a box fresh feel with every wear”.
