Recently, the company has undergone significant transformations, yet it remains steadfast in its commitment to the core values that have made it a leader in the industry. One of the most significant changes in recent years at Edelbrock has been its merger with the COMP Performance Group (CPG). This strategic move has transformed the company into the Edelbrock Group, a powerhouse that now includes COMP Cams, FAST, TCI, Russell, and the recently added Lunati brand. According to Carroll, this merger has allowed the company to streamline its operations, offering a broader range of products under one roof.
“The Edelbrock and Russell brands were relocated from their Torrance, California, location to our centrally located headquarters and distribution center in Olive Branch, Mississippi. This move allowed us to better use our collective resources and take a fresh look at all of our product offerings,” Carroll explains.
The consolidation of these brands has not only enhanced the company’s efficiency but also allowed it to innovate more effectively. With all these brands working together, the Edelbrock Group can now offer customers a complete package, with components that are perfectly matched and tested to deliver top-tier performance.
“We have the advantage to view the necessary changes needed not only to the current product, but also how it or one of our companion products might benefit from any corresponding changes,” Carroll adds.
Despite these changes, the essence of Edelbrock remains unchanged. The company culture, deeply rooted in a love for cars and racing, continues to thrive. Carroll emphasizes that both Edelbrock and CPG have always been driven by car enthusiasts who are passionate about the automotive aftermarket. This shared passion has helped to create a seamless integration of the two companies’ cultures.
“We have a diverse group of employees that can be found enjoying their free time attending drag racing, circle track, off-road events, drifting, or cruising just to name a few,” says Carroll.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Edelbrock’s culture is the loyalty and dedication of its employees. Carroll highlights that the company has a significant number of tenured employees, with many having been with the company for over a decade.
With the combined resources of all the brands under its umbrella, the Edelbrock Group is now better equipped than ever to serve the automotive industry. Carroll explains that the company’s extensive range of products, all made in the USA, sets it apart from its competitors.
“The Edelbrock Group is the only manufacturer offering the selection of camshafts, valvetrain, intake manifold, cylinder head, forced induction, fuel injection, transmission, converter, and fuel fitting options under one roof,” he notes.
This comprehensive product offering allows customers to save on shipping costs and streamline their purchasing process, making Edelbrock a one-stop shop for high-performance automotive components.
In addition to its product offerings, Edelbrock places a strong emphasis on customer service and support. The company has a training center on-site to ensure that its representatives are well-versed in technical bulletins and upcoming product releases. Moreover, the technical support and customer service teams are cross-trained, allowing customers to get the help they need with just one call.
Edelbrock has long been involved in drag racing, from using the sport as a test bed for its products to supporting the racers that use Edelbrock products, as well as the series where those racers compete. The company actively supports racers and racing series through contingency programs in NHRA, PDRA, NMCA, NMRA, and .90 Series, among others.
Looking ahead, Edelbrock aims to continue its legacy of innovation and leadership in the automotive industry. Carroll shares the company’s vision: “To be the leader in technology and manufacturing in the arena of the brands within our portfolio while exceeding the expectations of our customers in service and support.” The Edelbrock Group is also exploring new areas of growth, including engaging with younger enthusiasts and non-traditional forms of motorsports.
Despite the many changes the company has undergone, Carroll is confident that Edelbrock’s best days are still ahead. “We’re extremely proud of the combined 150-plus years of legacy across our brands. However, we will not be defined by that history as we are focused on creating the next successful chapter for these iconic brands,” he says.
The Edelbrock Group’s commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and the racing community ensures that it will continue to be a leader in the automotive aftermarket for years to come. With a rich history and a forward-looking approach, Edelbrock is well-positioned to meet the challenges of an evolving industry and continue its legacy of performance excellence.
