TheIndustry.fashion Awards 2025: Why ‘Planet’?
TheIndustry.fashion People, Planet & Purpose Awards 2025 is a brand new scheme, open to fashion brands and retailers who are pushing boundaries and driving positive change. Time is running out—enter now before 29 November.
When considering the beating heart of a thriving fashion industry, three Ps spring to mind: People, Planet & Purpose.
It is no longer possible to uncouple industry from environmental responsibility. To be a future-facing fashion brand or retailer is to understand the necessity for change when it comes to how we produce our clothes, and the importance of a sustainable supply chain. We therefore chose ‘Planet’ as our second core category for TheIndustry.fashion Awards 2025.
Eight awards will be presented within this category, touching upon sustainable sourcing, recommerce, delivery and more.
The deadline for entries is 29 November. Shortlisted entries will receive a complimentary ticket for the Awards, presented at the Corinthia London hotel on 27 February 2025. This event is invite only and the only way to attend is to be shortlisted. There will be no cost involved after entry.
The only way to get your work in front of our esteemed panel, and to secure your place at our VIP ceremony, is to enter now.
Sustainable Sourcing (Fabrics & Fashion)
For the brand, retailer or designer who has been tireless in their pursuit of more sustainable manufacturing and fabrics. This could range from sourcing from local factories, using upcycled/recycled fabrics, using organic/low impact materials. We’re looking for meaningful, long-term commitment from the winner of this award.
Sustainable Sourcing (Packaging & Labelling)
It’s not just what your clothes are made of that matters, it’s how they are packaged. We’re looking for a brand, retailer or designer that has looked to reduce their impact through the use of innovative, sustainable packaging and labelling, be that transit packaging, in-store packaging, garment labelling, carrier bags and more.
Sustainable Delivery
This category will shine a spotlight on those brands, retailers and designers who are offering their customers more sustainable ways of having their orders delivered (and returned). This might include the use of low impact vehicles, batching orders to avoid wasted journeys, and deliveries and returns to stores to reduce journeys and packaging for example.
Sustainable Store or Stores
Brands and retailers that have pushed boundaries in store design to create the most sustainable solution will be recognised here. Judges will consider various factors from the use of sustainable materials, energy use and in-store sustainable initiatives such as pre-loved sections and recycling and repair facilities. This can be across an estate, store or in an individual location.
Recommerce Excellence: Rental
For a brand, retailer or platform that is committed to reducing fashion’s impact through the use of a rental model. We’re looking for solid commitment to making the sharing economy work with a meaningful offer that has been enthusiastically adopted by customers. The rental offer can be offered in-store, online or via a third party (or all of these!).
Recommerce Excellence: Resale
Judges will be looking for a brand, retailer, designer or platform truly committed to circularity by offering a meaningful resale option. BTC, B2B or peer-to-peer initiatives will all be considered. But we want to see evidence that the initiative is central to the business strategy.
Best Use of Technology
We’re looking for a brand or retailer who, through the innovative use of technology (either their own or that of a partner) is making a positive impact in their business and in the wider fashion industry. This could be technology to monitor impact and waste or measure progress against targets. It might be the use of technology to track your products from the factory to the consumer.
Best Collaboration
This award is designed to celebrate the partnerships that are driving change and helping push fashion towards a circular future. This collaboration could be a fashion brand and a technology partner, a retailer and a logistics partner, a brand and a consultancy, a retailer and a charity partner, a brand and a recycling partner, or anything that involves two parties working together for the benefit of each other, the industry and the planet.
