In Pictures: Christopher Kane unveils full glitzy collection for Self-Portrait

Self-Portrait has finally unveiled Christopher Kane’s full collection as Creative Director in ‘residency’, after teasing a select few looks last week.

Last week, Christopher Kane’s longtime supporter Carine Roitfeld starred in the collection teaser, photographed in her Parisian home by Larissa Hofmann. Now, the photographer has unleashed the full photoshoot including models Achol Ayor, Colin Jones, and Hannah Motler.

Han Chong, Founder and Creative Director of Self-Portrait, said: “I wanted to find a new way to reveal this collection, in keeping with the spirit and ethos of why we started our Residency programme – something modern, unexpected and which celebrates togetherness.

“Recently collaborations have felt transactional, so with Self-Portrait Residency, I wanted to create something that feels alive, connected, and reflective of the creative energy of today… I hope these portraits capture our collective ambition for what we hope will be an inspiring ongoing new way to collaborate.”

Kane’s Residency collection reinterprets key concepts from his SS07 debut collection. Think striking textures – crystal chainmail, soft lace ruffles and fluid satins.

Kane added: “It has been a joy to work with Han on the brand’s first self-portrait Residency. The entire process has been an extraordinary experience, made possible by Han and his wonderful teams.

“I am delighted to have reincarnated my archival collections for this inaugural project, and who better to unveil our new collection than Carine Roitfeld; a big champion since my first collections, and a true fashion icon. I will be forever grateful for her continued support.”

Self-Portrait Residency by Christopher Kane is now available to shop at self-portrait.com, London stores in Mayfair and Chelsea and a network of third-party partners including Harvey Nichols, Bloomingdales, Selfridges and Club21.
