NYPD Investigates Attack on Jewish Children in Brooklyn

The New York Police Department is investigating an attack on two Jewish children that occurred earlier this week.

The incident took place on Sunday, involving two children, aged 11 and 13, who were attacked while playing on the sidewalk in Bedford-Stuyvesant, as shown in video footage.

The footage captures the suspect stopping his Citi bike as he rode past a group of children on Franklin Avenue.

The unidentified suspect, accused of assaulting the Orthodox Jewish children, is seen arriving at the scene on a Citi bike.

Believed to be between 18 and 20 years old, the man approached the children and reportedly shouted at them to “get off the sidewalk.”

Video obtained by Williamsburg 365 News shows the suspect violently grabbing one child and pushing him to the ground. As the other children backed away, the man lunged at another child, dragging him to the ground and repeatedly kicking and beating him, causing the group to scatter.

The suspect then returned to his Citi bike and fled the scene. Both victims are reported to be recovering from minor injuries.

“This assault on a group of Orthodox Jewish children is disgusting,” Borough President Antonio Reynoso told News 12. “Antisemitism has no home in Brooklyn, and I am grateful that the Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating this attack. My office is monitoring the situation.”

The New York City Police Department is actively investigating the incident and is requesting anyone with information about the suspect to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers program.
