With Wolf Back Behind The Wheel, Dubbin Motorsports Looks To Finish The Season Strong

After finishing a strong but disappointing weekend at the Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd, Minnesota, Dean Dubbin and the Dubbin Motorsports Team will travel to Maple Grove Raceway near Reading, Pennsylvania, for the NHRA Pep Boys Nationals. Kirk Wolf will take over the driving duties as the team looks to finish strong over the next few races.

“It wasn’t our weekend in Brainerd,” explained team owner (and driver) Dean Dubbin. “The event was hampered by weather the whole weekend and we didn’t get the runs we needed to get our car consistent enough to win the race. We qualified very well and made a great run in round one, but our inconsistency showed in the second round when we overpowered the track. We head to Reading with everyone focused on finding more consistency. With all the data and knowledge we have, I’m confident that we can find power and stability in the car for success at Maple Grove.”

With the season winding down, driver Kirk Wolf will be back in the seat of the Dubbin Motorsports A/Fuel dragster and will aim to achieve the best results possible in the final races of the 2024 campaign.

“The team didn’t get the results we wanted at Brainerd,” said Kirk Wolf, driver of the DMP Awnings / Kentex backed Dragster. “The power has been there the whole year, but we have lacked the consistency that we need to string together round wins. We have the performance to contend against the top teams, we just need to get our consistency back. Maple Grove is very fast this time of year, and this is a countdown race so we expect the track to be very good. We must have all phases of our program running at their best to compete at this race. In the past we have raced well in these conditions, I have no doubts we can do it again.”

The race at Maple Grove Raceway is a standard three-day NHRA national event weekend. The Top Alcohol Dragster class will open with a pair of qualifying sessions on Friday, while Saturday will feature a third qualifying session in the morning and two rounds of eliminations later in the evening. The semifinal and final rounds of the event will be contested on Sunday.
