Soeur launches Frère – its first-ever menswear collection
Parisian womenswear brand Soeur is today, 9 October, launching its first-ever menswear collection under the name of Frère.
Soeur means sister in French, while Frère means brother, and the new 20-piece collection is now available in the brand’s east London flagship store at 37 Redchurch Street in Shoreditch, which opened in January 2024, and on its website, with prices starting at £45.
The debut Frère collection is described as being “as much about attitude as it is about elegance”.
It offers timeless yet modern pieces designed for the man who appreciates luxury but with a relaxed, lived-in feel.
Founded in Paris in 2007 by sisters Domitille and Angélique Brion, and “created to embody the essence of French taste, ease, and authenticity”, Soeur has often borrowed elements from menswear to craft its womenswear pieces, so the launch of a brother brand makes perfect sense.
Frère is described as not just a collection, but an idea – “where getting dressed becomes a cultural statement, reflecting the films, music, and books that shape us”.
Key pieces include the ‘Arthur’ tweed coat, ‘Niels’ gabardine trousers, ‘Samuel’ gilet, ‘Glenn’ tailored shirt and ‘Isamu’ sweater. There’s also accessories such as the ‘Blizzard’ beanie and ‘Peter’ scarf in earthy tones.
