Salomon opens Covent Garden flagship with Soho store to follow

French outdoor and sports lifestyle brand Salomon has opened a new flagship store in Covent Garden’s St Martin’s Courtyard at 125 Long Acre, and its first ‘Sportstyle’ store will open in London’s Soho on 14 November.

The Covent Garden store, the brand’s first in the UK, is showcasing Salamon’s full offer of premium footwear, apparel and gear for running and hiking, as well as skis and snowboards. It also has a full wall of the brand’s ‘Sportstyle’ sneakers.

Meanwhile, the new 1,500 sq ft Soho store at 18 Broadwick Street will carry an extensive range of footwear, including the popular XT-6 model and the latest designer collaborations.

Pascal Clausse, VP Global Retail for Salomon, said: “We are delighted to announce the first Salomon brand stores in the United Kingdom. These two openings in The Yards and Soho, London, a city that is known for its connection to both the outdoor and the fashion world, are another step in Salomon’s retail expansion, following recent openings on the Champs-Elysées in Paris and in the SoHo district in New York.

“As a 77-year-old mountain sports brand that was born in a small workshop in Annecy in the French Alps, these new brand stores in London are a wonderful opportunity to share our passion for the mountain sports lifestyle with our growing community in the capital’s most recognised shopping districts.”

Jamie Thipthorpe, Asset Management Director at CBRE on behalf of Longmartin Properties, added: “Salomon’s selection of The Yards, Covent Garden, for its debut UK flagship, cements the destination’s reputation as the first choice location for first-class brands.

“In line with The Yards’ ethos, Salomon focuses on transforming and enhancing its customer’s experiences and we are excited to bring this to life in its first UK brick-and-mortar store.”

The Covent Garden store features a space for 2D foot scanning and an oven for ski boot customisation. All store employees are equipped with smartphones, allowing customers to quickly pay thanks to the Tap2Pay system, reducing waiting times.

Any product that cannot be found in store is available in an ‘endless aisle’ online, where items can be ordered from the store and shipped directly to locations across England.
