Liverpool ONE prepares for busiest Christmas since 2019
Liverpool ONE is set to have its busiest Christmas in five years, with record numbers of visitors predicted during the festive period.
The retail and leisure destination is expecting over four million visitors in the run up to Christmas, with the boost in shoppers anticipated to top records since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is forecasting a 7% year-on-year increase in sales by the end of 2024, while footfall is expected to be 3% higher than 2023.
The anticipated performance follows the evolution of Liverpool ONE in 2024, with 13 new brands opening in the last year, including Montirex, Tag Heuer and AllSaints, while Sephora, Uniqlo, Hobbs, Phase Eight and Whistles will be making their debuts in 2025.
Donna Howitt, Place Strategy Director at Liverpool ONE, said: “Our achievements this year have set us up for what we anticipate will be our busiest festive season, surpassing performance figures since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As we enter into the busiest time of year for retail, we’re optimistic footfall will continue to remain ahead of national trends – this is a true testament to the breadth of choice and activities we have at Liverpool ONE.”
Built around the existing streets of Liverpool, the 1.65 million sq ft contemporary open-air complex has over 170 stores, bars, restaurants and leisure experiences, including a 14-screen cinema.
Attracting over 22 million visitors per year and is committed, the destination is home to retail firsts, creative pop-ups and international flagship stores, as well as independent and local brands.
